Let’s talk about Reiki

Synchronicity is what led me to learn and fall in love with Reiki. I was curious about energy healing and alternative medicine, and went to have a specialized kinesiology session. The therapist used muscle testing, affirmations and essential oils. It was really effective, and gave me the clarity of knowing what I really wanted to learn next. I was at a time when I had left my administrative job, hoping never to go back to this type of work, which does not fulfill me in any way spiritually or energetically, and I was not sure what I was called to do next.

The kinesiologist also practiced Reiki as per her promotional leaflet. So I asked her what it was. She said it was healing by using energy and she asked me to rub my hands together, and put them a little bit apart and feel the waves of energy oozing between the palms of my hands. She then told me that this is what she uses to help people relax and heal.

I went back home and searched up where I can learn Reiki healing and I found my teacher. I started the courses immediately, but this was not enough. I also borrowed different Reiki books from the library and extended my knowledge on the subject.

There are many types of Reiki healing practices, but they all have five main principles: Just for today, I will let go of Anger; I will let go of worry; I will do my work honestly; I will be grateful for my many blessings; and I will be kind to every living thing.

Also the essence of all Reiki types is the same: Reiki is the Universal Life Force Energy that is given by the Divine to us and which helps us balance, readjust and realign the energy centres of the body which are otherwise called Chakras.

We have seven main Chakras, distinguished by their place on the body and the colour that symbolizes each of them. The body in its optimum function, physically, emotionally and spiritually, will have all the chakras, open, spinning and connected. Having regular Reiki sessions can help us achieve this goal.

A session can vary in time according to the receptivity of the body, but basically, the end result is beautiful. Total relaxation which helps the body get into its rest and repair mode. We begin with the client setting an intention for the session, and we do an opening prayer. I pose my hands on specific parts of the body and these parts either warm up or become colder depending on what the body wants. At the end of the session, we do a closing prayer and discuss the session. Following the session, it is advisable to drink a lot of water, as it helps the body get rid of the toxins.

If a client is not comfortable being touched, Reiki can be done without touching the body. It may also be done remotely, if the client is away, at a hospital or even in a coma. It is that powerful! I have done many remote healing Reiki sessions and have had excellent results.

I invite you to try out a session with me. I practice at my home office in Woodbridge and at Cloud 9 Pampering in Maple. Please check out my website to find any special offers I may have at the time you are checking and the two locations where I am practicing.
